Thank God for defusing a tricky situation for me today!  

My boss wanted me and another colleague to finish a 15 page MD&A paper in 3 work days.  My other colleague saw it as a rather impossible timeline, while the ignorant me just said, "ok, can be done - just needs more OT".  Little did I know he would say to her, "X said he could do it in 3 days.  How come you said you can't?"  

MEGA SABO!!  I still have to work with her for next 3 days, and he started me in a negative 10G inverted dive position.   Needless to say, fireworks started.  All kinds of nasty words like "What I send to boss, I do not need to copy you" or "I've been liaising with the lawyers and sponsors for so long,  what do you know"?  WW3 started :( 

Thankfully, God put words of wisdom and tact in my mouth.  I decided to let her lead the project instead, and slowly, she calmed down.  Over the course of the day, she realised that I was only wanting to finish the task, not fight for her job - Why would I?  I'm leaving by end-Feb!  By end of the day, we mended up.  Phew!

Aside, I arranged over FB to have lunch with an acquaintance whom I've not met in about 2 years. He was happy to meet up, and asked me to email him, which I did.  The next email I got was a few hours from.... his personal assistant!  She informed me that his next slot was next week, and thereafter, 20th March!  I'm like...  WOAH!  Talk about being busy!  This takes it to a whole new level!  Ok, I'd take slot next week if he's still available, please!
